
In October of 2019 the Body Art Education Alliance (BAEA) completed a massive project to overhaul the significantly outdated Body Art Model Code (BAMC). Established by the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA), the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO), the Association of Professional Piercers (APP), the Alliance of Professional Tattooists (APT), and many other representatives from individual health agencies from all over the U.S., this code is the model referenced by city, county, and state organizations who need to revise or create their body art regulations.
With the emergence of COVID19 the body art industry, like piercing and tattooing have been impacted like most other aspects of life. This resulted in BAEA members reconvening to develop suggested guidelines for reopening studios like ours and working safely when that day comes. You can read more below.
