Environmental and public health conferences happen throughout the year and require specialists from many different backgrounds to provide educational content. Sometimes these organizations ask for continued education presentations from the body art community, namely, the Association of Professional Piercers (APP).

Recently, Colorado’s Environmental Health Association (CEHA) requested Long Beach piercer, John Johnson, deliver a presentation regarding piercing safety. John’s piercing studio, New Flower, is a safety oriented and education driven body piercing studio in Long Beach near CSULB.

When receiving their formal training, health inspectors have little, or no, official body art inspection training, leaving most local health departments to develop inspection programs which may be insufficient. This means there’s a continued education need for regulators and other officials who take this aspect of public health seriously.

New Flower Studio body piercing in Long Beach has featured a piercing staff of educators since opening in 2012.
