Each year the National Environmental Health Association hosts an education conference for professionals who perform health and safety inspections across several industries of public health, such as food safety and body art.

This year’s conference was in Kansas City, MO.

Environmental health professionals from around the U.S. attend lectures relevant to their specialties.

Above, NEHA members deliver the first presentation on body art.

Professional conferences like this are a great place for networking.

Of course there’s a expo with vendors ranging from educational institutions to manufacturers of products and service providers.

Expos like this are always a major part of any professional conference.

New Flower body piercer John Johnson exhibits at NEHA on behalf of the Association of Professional Piercers (APP).

Many health inspectors are enthusiastic about the APP booth at the NEHA conference. They get to interact with piercers and discuss topics related to body piercing safety and go home with literature and new information.

The APP really is a great resource for inspectors who regulate body art facilities. Above, current APP Vice President Pablo Perelmuter, talks to a visitor the the booth.

Both John and Pablo were invited to speak during body art safety sessions at the 2026 NEHA conference in Kansas City.

The Association of Professional Piercers provides health and safety information about body piercing. If you need a speaker to provide presentations for your event please use the button below.
